Here is number four; enjoy!
DEAD DOLPHINS
When the alarm clock woke him up at 8.40, it was already quite warm. The sun was shining through the half-drawn curtains, and the rays of light showed some of the cobwebs Gabriel Brown had not yet brushed away.
After a quick shower, Brown, known to his friends as “Gabby” because he was always talking about something, had a long breakfast and listened to the radio; more bad news from the Middle East, the Prime Minister's popularity plummeting still further and another financial scandal on Wall Street. At least he could listen to the cricket match later in the day – assuming, of course, that rain did not stop play.
Gabby got his bag and walking shoes together and set out on his regular hike, about 15 kilometres, through the old mining village and back via the valley. About 40 minutes later, just as he was approaching the top of a small hill, he was surprised to notice most of the trees were charred and blackened. He was even more surprised, a few minutes later, when he noticed a couple of dead dolphins lying by a horse-chestnut tree; since when did dolphins climb hills?
